Spring Concert 2014-05-03

Thanks to all who attended our Spring Concert on Saturday May 3 – we hope you had a good time. Thanks also to our guest choir MGV Harmonia who wound up taking the “scenic route” from Kenosha to Madison. And special thanks to all who helped set up for the concert, prepare the food, and clean up afterward. Here are some photos (click on the thumbnails to see the larger image):

T-shirt photo

I really like to post sock photos, but every once in a while you get the chance to step outside of the box, so I just had to post this photo of a T-shirt at our rehearsal tonight:

Wisconsin T-shirt

I think this is even better than the famous “Irish yoga” T-shirt…

Stiftungsfest 2014

Our annual Stiftungsfest was held at the Essen Haus on Saturday February 15th. We had quite a good turnout despite the weather and we had a pretty good time. One of the evening’s highlights was Walter wearing the 1950s version of the MMC uniform, complete with the white coat and bow tie. My hat’s off to the former members of the choir from this era: obviously they never spilled a beer or put too much mustard on a bratwurst while in uniform!

MMC Concert at Oakwood Village 2014-01-16

Retired MMC singer Dick Layman invited us to perform at Oakwood Village. It was kind of memorial concert for Dick’s wife Gloria who passed away late last year. We performed at 7:00 p.m. in the main auditorium. We sang a selection of our songs, including some that were especially requested by Dick.

After the concert we adjourned to the dining hall and enjoyed sandwiches and beer. Naturally we did a little more singing!

Thanks again for inviting us Dick!

MMC Christmas Concert 2013

The Madison Maennerchor had our annual Christmas Concert & Dinner at Turner Hall on Sunday December 15, 2013. We had a pretty good turnout for the concert, and afterwards Sankt Nikolaus paid us a visit and then we had dinner, featuring ham baked in sourdough bread from Clasen’s Bakery.

Eric recorded the concert and has made the audio files available for listening and downloading. If I’ve done this correctly, clicking on the link below should take you to the folder containing the audio files. Then just click on a file to hear the song:
