St. Thomas Boys Choir of Leipzig, Germany

The St. Thomas Boys Choir of Leipzig, Germany will be performing at

Luther Memorial Church, 1021 University Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin, on

Sunday, November 3, 2013.

The choir was founded in 1212, and was led by J.S. Bach from 1723 until

his death in 1750. The group last appeared in the US on the East coast

in 2000.

Luther Memorial Church can accommodate approximately 650 people to hear

this very special concert.

Junger Chor Münster

The award-winning Junger Chor Münster from the city of Münster in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany visits Milwaukee on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 27 & 28, 2013!  They sing classical, gospel and pop music in concert in German, English and other languages.

Join Cora Lee Kluge, UW Professor of German and Co-Director of the Max Kade Institute for German-American Studies, as she discusses how and why Wisconsin became the most German state in the U.S., as well as the lasting impact of German traditions and customs on our lives today. Savor the flavors of Germany with a meal catered by Blue Plate Catering that highlights the best of German cuisine.

National Saengerfest in Milwaukee

The 61st National Saengerfest was held in Milwaukee on June 20th to 22nd. About 22 singers from the Madison Maennerchor were in attendance. By all accounts it was a lot of fun for those who attended. Here are a few photos from the gathering:

Rockow directs MTC

Former Madison Maennerchor director Ron Rockow had the opportunity to direct the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at their concert at the Overture Center in Madison on Tuesday June 18, 2013.
