Former Madison Maennerchor director Ron Rockow had the opportunity to direct the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at their concert at the Overture Center in Madison on Tuesday June 18, 2013. The Wisconsin State Journal has the full story here. The State Journal also has some photos of the rehearsal and concert.
The Madison Maennerchor had its 161st annual Spring Concert at Turner Hall on Saturday May 18th. The weather was nice, though it did get a little warm in the hall. We had a good turnout for the concert. Our guest choir was the Gesangverein Concordia from Sheboygan. They sang during intermission and joined us for a few songs at the end of the concert.
After the concert there were sandwiches and other refreshments. Jerry Stueber provided the post-concert entertainment.
Thanks to all who helped make the concert a success, especially our sponsors, the setup and clean up crews, and our guests the Gesangverein Concordia.
The Madison Maennerchor sang at the Maifest celebration at the Essen Haus on Saturday May 4, 2013. After a rainy morning, it was a beautiful afternoon to be outside and enjoy the music, food and beer. The band “Copper Box” provided most of the afternoon’s entertainment – we performed a short set during one of their breaks. We sang in between the performance by the Oak Apple Morris Dancers and the traditional Maypole dance.
The Madison Maennerchor was the guest choir at the Milwaukee Liederkranz Spring concert on Sunday April 21, 2013. This was the 135th Spring Concert (though the weather was more fall-like) by the Milwaukee Liederkranz.

The file is kind of big, so it may take a while to completely load on your computer. Enjoy!
On the evening of Saturday February 9, 2013 we gathered at the Essen Haus to celebrate another year of the Madison Maennerchor’s continued existence – we’ve come a long way since 1852! We enjoyed an excellent meal, some liquid refreshments and the chance to sing a few songs on stage. All together, a wonderful evening of gemütlichkeit.
Thanks to our social chairman Greg, and the staff at the Essen Haus.
