Stiftungsfest 2010

MMC singing at Essen Haus Madison February 13, 2010
We had a fine turnout tonight for our 158th anniversary Stiftungsfest at Essen Haus, Madison. (February 13, 2010) We sang a few songs (using our nice song binders – thanks, Tim) and made it a challenge for the wait staff to take orders!
The spirits and conviviality are evident from these pictures.

Christmas Concert was a Success
About 250 people celebrated with us last December 13th, 2009 at Madison Turner Hall, 3001 S Stoughton Ave. People came from as far away as Manitowoc.
Thanks to all who made this a success. Pictures are requested. Please email them to info@madisonmaennerchor.org.
MMC Participates in Hustisford Oktoberfest
Sunday, October 11th, the Madison Männerchor performed at the Hustisford Firemen’s Hall, 316 E Tweedy. A good time was had by all. Pictures of the occasion are needed.
Wauktoberfest September 27th, 2009
We led off the performances at the Wauktoberfest in Waunakee, Wisconsin. The festival was held on the Highway Q grounds of the Endres Manufacturing Company. Pictures of the event are requested.

An excellent sing in Waunakee
We had good fall weather, too. Because of the wind, the clouds moved on quickly, leaving the rain behind. So, it was raining while the sun was out.
Schubert Sanctus / Heilig
Madison Männerchor was invited to participate in the Holy Hill Centennial celebration! On July 15th, 2006, MMC sang several songs, including Beethoven’s “Die Himmel rühmen,” Mozart’s “Bundeslied,” and Franz Schubert’s “Heilig,” the Sanctus from the G major mass. We were able to see, once again, how magnificent the basilica is!

Built at the highest point in that part of Wisconsin, the basilica offers a truly commanding view of the area. And the church acoustics! Wow. This building is truly a suitable praise to the Almighty.
Madison Opera’s 2009-2010 Season
Madison Männerchor participates in the International Festival that is held at the Madison Overture Center. Naturally, other Overture Center activities are of interest, too!
Since we focus on German songs and culture, it is a pleasure to see that Richard Wagner’s “Flying Dutchman” is part of this season’s offerings! … Hmmm. I wonder if they will need more ghost-sailors … ?
