MMC Christmas Concert at Turner Hall 2012-12-09

The Madison Maennerchor held its annual Christmas Concert & Dinner on Sunday December 9th at Turner Hall. Despite the snow and rain, we had approximately 200 in attendance for the concert, most of whom stayed for dinner. And of course, no MMC Christmas Concert would be complete without a visit from Sankt Nikolaus.

Thanks to all who helped make the concert and dinner a success: the set up and clean up teams, those who helped with the tickets, food and publicity, and anyone else that I’ve failed to mention.

MMC Concert at Oakwood Village West 2012-11-15

We performed at 7:00 p.m. in the main auditorium. We sang some of our old favorites and finished with some Christmas songs. President Blatter presented our concert sponsor and retired MMC singer Dick Layman and his wife Gloria with a card and flowers in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary.

After the concert we adjourned to the dining hall and enjoyed sandwiches and Warsteiner beer. And of course we did a little more singing!

Thanks for inviting us Dick, and Happy Anniversary to you and Gloria!

German Fest 2012

On Sunday, July 29th, members of the Madison Maennerchor participated in the annual Milwaukee German Fest Church Service. This year’s service is Lutheran, and we heard many fine youthful speakers as they read in both german and english. The celebration was in the Henry Maier Festival Ground’s Marcus Amphitheater. We had a wonderful, spiritual time, surrounded by friends in the “pew” and on stage. The Freistadt Alte Kameraden band provided a wonderful musical foundation for our singing.

Among the more than 200 choristers on stage were MMC members
Fred Berger
Klaus Bodenstein
Bill Dries
Paul Essert
Mel Grulke
Joe Johnson
Ron Kycek
Morris Sadicario
Greg Tatusko

MMC Thursday Night Festivities July 19 2012

Singers,

Instead of meeting at the Essen Haus this Thursday, a few of us decided to give the Capital Brewery a visit instead. 7734 Terrace Avenue Middleton, WI 53562 (NOTE: No tables of drunks drinking mulitple glass boots of beer!)

The Bier Garten closes at 9:00, so we thought a gathering time of 6:30 – 7:00 would be more appropriate.

Hope to see many of you there!
Tim
